Students in Health Sciences 508: Educational Strategies for Health Professionals delivered presentations to the residents of SummerWood, an assisted living facility a short distance from campus.The students spoke about safety. This included fall prevention, home safety, and avoiding scams and fraud. ENHP faculty member and course instructor, Claudia Oakes, reported that the event was very well attended and that feedback from the residents at SummerWood was positive.

HS 508: Educational Strategies for the Health Professions is designed to introduce students to the principles of community, peer, professional, or patient education. It addresses issues of educational psychology, goal and objective writing,
learning styles, presentation skills, and needs assessment.
