The University of Hartford's Women's Business Center (WBC) will host the Brazil Meet & Greet Small Business Luncheon on Wednesday, September 21, 11 am - 1 pm at the Entrepreneurial Center at 1265 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT. The three sponsoring organizations, the WBC in collaboration with the CT Small Business Development Center and the US Dept. of Commerce, will welcome to CT the Business Women Award winners, a group of successful, women microenterprise owners from Brazil. The winners will be accompanied by the awarding organization, SEBRAE, the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service, which advances the development, sustainability, and expansion of small businesses in Brazil.
SEBRAE annually provides the opportunity to its small business winners to visit the US and learn from their counterparts’ experiences, creating new ideas for expanding their businesses. At the September 21 event, local small businesses will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and best practices with the visiting entrepreneurs while learning about the Brazilian small business landscape.

The Women’s Business Center is the largest initiative of the University of Hartford’s Entrepreneurial Center (EC), which provides hands-on coaching and business training for new and expanding small businesses, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs, throughout Connecticut. Part of the nationally-renowned Barney School of Business, the EC helps small business owners and employees to gain the business skills needed to succeed in the marketplace through business advising, technical assistance, educational programs, and networking events.
