Natacha Poggio, social impact designer and assistant professor of visual communication design in the Hartford Art School, lectures locally and internationally on the value of art and design education as a catalyst for positive social change.
Poggio will speak on "Design Thinking Strategies for Leadership" from her experiences in the social innovation field. She describes Design Thinking (DT) as a creative process that combines empathy, creativity, and rationality to meet user needs and drive success. Commonly practiced in the design world, DT has revolutionized the business, entrepreneurship, and global health fields, as it is based around the "building up" of ideas—thus eliminating the fear of failure and encouraging maximum participation across disciplines.
