The University Libraries Outreach Committee and SGA will be hosting therapy dogs from Tails of Joy on Thursday, May 8, from 12 to 3 p.m., and Friday, May 9, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Teams of dogs and their handlers will be on campus to help students, staff, and faculty relieve stress during Finals Week. The event will be held on the lawn between the back of Mortensen Library and the Park River. Light refreshments will be provided.
Tails of Joy is a Connecticut-based organization that provides pet therapy to children’s facilities, nursing homes, rehab centers, and hospitals.
Donations of pet supplies will be accepted for Our Companions, a pet rescue and adoption organization based in Manchester, Conn. They are especially in need of supermarket gift cards, cat food, paper towels, unscented laundry supplies, bleach, and trash bags (large heavy duty and tall kitchen varieties). Visitors to the therapy dogs are encouraged to bring a donation, but it is not required.
Come say hello to our furry visitors and let them relieve your end-of-the-term stress!
