From Folksong to Symphony This course examines representative orchestral works by composers (Aaron Copland, Charles Ives, Virgil Thomson, William Schuman, Roy Harris, Jerome Moross) who found both inspiration and musical raw materials from America's past and its varied vernacular. There will be three sessions.
