Fairfield-Sonn Named to MacCurdy-Salisbury Educational Foundation and Brevillier Fund Board
James Fairfield-Sonn, professor of management and former dean of the Barney School of Business, has been appointed to the board of the MacCurdy-Salisbury Educational Foundation and the Brevillier Fund.
Founded in 1893, the MacCurdy-Salisbury Educational Foundation was established to support education in the town of Old Lyme, Conn. The primary purpose is the awarding of scholarships to students residing in Old Lyme who are enrolled in institutions of learning beyond high school. The Brevillier Fund was established to aid residents of the town of Lyme, Conn.
These awards are grants-in-aid based on both need and merit; they are not automatically assigned for high scholastic attainment, per se. Grants are payable to students, not to institutions.
This year over $236,000 in educational grants were awarded to 78 students from Old Lyme and Lyme. In the past six years, the Foundation and Fund have given out over $1.3 million in grants.
