Five Hartt Students to Perform in Cabaret at Playhouse on Park
Five Hartt School students will perform in the Tony Award-winning musical, Cabaret, at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford.
The student performers are: Conor Hamil '15, Mackenzie Friedmann '15, Nina Paganucci '15, Katie Luke '15, and Jack Oswell '15.
The show’s run begins with preview performances on Wednesday, June 12, and Thursday, June 13, before opening officially on Friday, June 14. It will run through July 21.
This performance is suggested for audiences aged 16 years and up due to explicit sexual content and mature subject matter.
With book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, Cabaret is an exciting and fun musical that uniquely explores an era where history was in the making.
Lights up on the Kit Kat Klub, a seedy cabaret in late 1920s Berlin. The Master of Ceremonies introduces us to a world where outside troubles do not matter and problems can be left at the door. The 1998 revival version, the version being produced by Playhouse on Park, features notable musical numbers including It Couldn't Please Me More, Willkommen, Cabaret, Don't Tell Mama and Two Ladies.
The Opening Night performance on June 14 will be preceded by a complimentary wine and cheese reception for patrons to enjoy from 7 to 8 p.m. Following the Sunday, June 16, matinee performance, there will be a "Talk Back" with the cast. In addition, there will be a special Open Mic night after the Saturday, June 22, show.
