President Harrison's Message Regarding the Tragic Events in Boston
President Walter Harrison sent the following email to faculty, staff, and students on Tuesday, April 16.
Faculty, Staff, and Students
University of Hartford
Dear Members of the University of Hartford community:
Yesterday’s frightening and unsettling events in Boston have shaken us all. During these uncertain moments, I am so grateful to live and work in a welcoming and supportive community. Caring about one another is one of the defining characteristics of this University, and I ask all of you to reach out to embrace and support others during these trying times.
Some of us may well have had family members or friends directly affected by yesterday’s events, and I ask you all to help others who may need it, and to remember that help is available to anyone who seeks it through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at 860.768.4482 or through the Human Resources Development office (HRD) at 860.768.4666. If you are a residential student, your Resident Director can also be of assistance. If there is anything I or my office staff can do, I hope you’ll let us know either by replying to this message or calling 860.768.4417.
“Committed to Community” is more than our motto. It is a statement of our most fundamental values. May we come together to support each other during these days of uncertainty.
