Roth Earns America East Rookie Honors
Freshman Katie Roth garnered the Hawks' first weekly distinction of the 2012-13 season on Monday when she was named America East Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office.
Roth averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game over the two games last week, including a career-high 17 points in the road win at UMass. She opened that contest making her first six shot attempts of the night, before finishing 6-of-7 overall and 5-of-8 at the free throw line. Her 17 points against the Minutewomen ties the season high for all players.
On Sunday, Roth finished with just two points but grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Hawks. Overall for the week, she shot 53.8 percent overall.
For the season, Roth is currently fifth on the team in scoring with an average of 7.0 ppg and leads the Hawks with a 6.0 rebound-per-contest average.
