Women in Contemporary Printmaking Lecture
Mirra Goldfrad and Amanda Keating, two students in the Hartford Art School's printmaking program, will join Jenni Freidman, assistant professor of printmaking, to give a presentation about their recent trip to the Southern Graphics Council (SGC) Conference.
The presentation will take place on Tuesday, May 1, at 12:15 p.m., in the Joseloff Gallery, which is currently hosting the senior BFA thesis exhibitions of the Printmaking and Ceramics Departments. Both Keating and Goldfrad have work in the exhibition.
The SGC International is the national professional organization in printmaking. This year the conference was held in the city of New Orleans. Travel to, and attendance at the conference was made possible through a grant from the Women's Education and Leadership Fund.
The students had the opportunity to learn about the contributions women have made to the field, view exhibitions of prints from around the world, show their work at an open portfolio, and have a private mentoring session with an established artist in the field.
The three women are excited to talk about their experiences at the conference and show their work. Please join them on Tuesday!
