The foundation of the TLCW workshop is The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership® that characterize the most effective leaders – those who get extraordinary things done in organizations. Individuals who increase the frequency of these five leadership practices have been shown to have higher credibility and higher-performing teams. It is based on the premise that leadership is ‘learn-able’.
The other key feature is an assessment tool, The Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI). This tool is a behavioral-based 360-degree survey. Participants receive feedback on how others perceive them as leaders and how frequently they engage in the Five Practices. Prior to the workshop, each participant completes the assessment and chooses raters to do the same. Raters include their boss, direct reports, peers/coworkers, and others (clients or customers). A confidential individual report is then prepared and given to each participant in the workshop and enables personalized action plans to be created by each participant.
