Mental health awareness, stress relief, and prevention techniques: everyone can use some of these. Join Active Minds to help spread the word about mental health and psychological disorders through fun and relaxing activities with your fellow students.

“Changing the Conversation About Mental Health”

Mission: The purpose of the club Active Minds is to increase the University of Hartford students, faculty and  staff awareness of issues surrounding mental health, symptoms related to mental health disorders and mental health resources available both on campus and in surrounding community. Reducing stigma towards people living with mental illness so that students will feel more comfortable seeking help when it is needed and openly discussing mental-health related issues. Promoting a general awareness of comprehensive “self health” by emphasizing techniques that care for the body as well as the mind. Providing students with easy access to information about Eating Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Serving as a liaison between the student body and the mental health community by hosting guest speakers, providing information fact sheets, organizing fundraisers, maintaining a comprehensive website, and organizing other events designed to reduce stigma and raise awareness.
