American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)

The American Society of Civil Engineer’s (ASCE) University of Hartford Student Chapter specifically addresses the needs of the student members. The chapter promotes the education and development of the student members through extra-curricular activities.  Currently the chapter hosts a weekly lunch-and-learn seminar to expose students to the local industry and the issues they will encounter upon graduation. The series will culminate in a networking reception during the spring semester. Also, the chapter sponsors a team to compete in the National Student Steel Bridge Competition.

Mission Statement: ASCE's mission is to help get University of Hartford Civil Engineering Students more involved with civil engineering outside of the classroom. We plan to enter design competition(s) which will give the students a hands-on experience as well as a better grasp on the design aspect of Civil Engineering.
