The 2014 Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony
The Barney School chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma held its fourteenth annual induction ceremony on April 30th at 11:30 in the 1877 Club. Fifty-two Barney juniors, seniors, and graduate students were inducted, and two students were awarded Charles R. Canedy III prizes. The ceremony was conducted by Dean Martin Roth and chapter advisor, Dr. Charles Canedy III. The keynote address, was given by Ms. Rachna Khanna (Beta 2003), who spoke about “Wisdom from Afar”. Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.
The Mission of the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.

Barney Chapter Recognition
For two of the past three years, the Barney chapter was awarded Honorable Mention as an Outstanding Chapter among all chapters worldwide. This places the Barney School among the top 6 chapters out of the more than 500 chapters in the world (the top 1%).
Also, for eight consecutive years starting in 2005, the the Barney chapter was recognized as one of the Premier Chapters in the Northeastern United States.
And in 2004 the Barney School chapter was recognized by Beta Gamma Sigma as an Exemplary Chapter in the in the Northeastern United States.
