Barney senior Honors Students Taylor Clark, Taylor McCreery, and Stephanie Lessing were among nine University students whose research submissions were accepted for presentation at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research at the University of Kentucky on April 3-5, 2014. This is a new University initiative by Provost Vasquez, Interim UG Dean Goldenberg, and Honors Director Don Jones. Upon return from NCUR, during University of Hartford Honors Week, Don Jones held a colloquium in Wilde where the nine students talked about their experiences at the conference and, hopefully, encouraged juniors to think about projects for 2015. Information on NCUR can be accessed at http://www.cur.org/conferences_and_events/student_events/ncur/.
The Barney students, their paper titles, and their faculty mentors are listed below:
Taylor Clark — “University Park: An Opportunity to Link Town and Gown” (joint presentation with Taylor McCreery. Faculty mentor: Irina Naoumova)
Stephanie Lessing — “Quantitative Easing and Monetary Policies: Impact on Risk Culture and Economic Recovery” (Faculty mentor: Lillian Kamal) — Barney School of Business
