Stacy Orf received her Master’s in Business Administration from the Barney School of Business in January 2013 and was recently inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma. She completed the MBA program while working full-time at The Travelers Companies, Inc.
This prize was established in 1995 in memory of Edith Cartin by her children, Arnold and Fanchon Cartin, and is awarded each year to a working female graduate student based solely upon academic excellence. The student must be fully matriculated and have attained fifteen credits toward a graduate degree from the Barney School of Business.
Ms. Orf is currently a manager at Travelers in Personal Insurance Finance, responsible for business performance measurement and supporting the planning and forecasting process. A 2009 graduate of the Travelers Financial Management Leadership Development Program (FMLDP), she started her career at Travelers in 2005 as an FMLDP summer intern and continues to support the program by offering a summer internship opportunity. Stacy graduated magna cum laude from Bentley College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Finance & Accounting.
Edith Cartin Goldberg was a person of great courage and vision. Widowed at an early age, she assumed the leadership of the family business and, in a male dominated environment, successfully steered the company toward a position of leadership in the area of product distribution. She was an innovative business person and an aware and caring citizen.
