Flexibility and convenience is what we hear from people seeking an MBA. It is well known adults juggle busy lives that require they make choices that allow them to maximize their work life, enjoy their home life and seek career advancement. The Barney School One-Year Cohort MBA is structured so that obtaining an education just got a little bit easier. All classes are on Saturdays, perfect for students who live further away and can only get here for Saturday classes.
As a cohort program, students feel they get more out of the experience through their interactions and learning created through shared understandings, discussions and debates, and involvement with their colleagues. This approach helps anchor the learning in real world experiences shared by students and take-aways to use in their current work environment. It may not be for everyone, but for those who choose this avenue for completing their MBA, they find life-long friendships and connections, as well as the confidence and drive to move their careers forward.
The Barney School of Business' AACSB Accredited Program offers students the option to obtain their MBA in just 12 months. After satisfying the six core courses, online or on-site, students can enter the One Year Cohort MBA Program.
The One Year Cohort MBA consists of six breadth courses which represents integrative, cross-functional topics that give the Barney MBA its uniqueness. Students are also given the option of choosing electives as part of the program. Elective courses enrich the students focus in a designated area. Options for electives include quantitative or general management courses. These electives help students hone their skills in area of management and finance with courses such as bargaining and negotiations, and financial statement analysis and valuation. The capstone integrates functional approaches and environment issues by having students make strategic business decisions. The Barney School of Business uses the cohort style model. Class sizes are generally 25 students and are comprised of motivated, and experiences working professionals. Small classroom sizes allow students to excel in intimate, academic rich environments, led by distinguished and dedicated faculty.
