Lee Ann Leahy
A partner in the Boston Office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP with over 28 years of diversified audit and consulting experience, Lee Ann C. Leahy serves higher education and healthcare clients throughout the Northeast. She also frequently speaks to audiences on internal controls, audit committee effectiveness, and other governance issues, and their impact on higher education and healthcare institutions. Leahy is a Certified Public Accountant and licensed to practice in Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. She earned a BSBA from Barney in 1984. Later a member of the Barney School Board of Visitors for several years, and a frequent speaker in various accounting department classes and events, Leahy was the inaugural speaker last spring for the Corine T. Norgaard Women in Leadership Lecture Series. She serves as the vice chair of the board of directors of the Animal Rescue League of Boston, and also chairs its Finance and Audit Committee. Leahy lives in the South End of Boston with her husband, Michael, and their 13-year-old golden retriever.
A respected consultant in the fashion retail industry, Scott Orenstein is former president of G.H. Bass & Co. Between 2000-2012, he provided brand vision and direction for this iconic brand of PVH Corporation. Orenstein relaunched the original Weejun brand, established quality control improvements, and launched the new inspired lifestyle look of Bass Earth. Prior to Bass, he served as senior vice president and general merchandise manager for Geoffrey Beene, and as a vice president and division merchandise manager for Lord and Taylor. In 2010, Orenstein was honored with the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club Hope and Opportunity Award for outstanding service, support, and dedication to the Navy Yard Clubhouse. He is a yearly speaker at the National Students Leadership Association and serves on multiple boards, including the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America. Orenstein received his bachelor's and MBA degrees from Barney in 1983 and 1984, respecively.
The two inductees were also honored with the establishment of scholarships in their names, made possible by donations from the Barney School of Business Board of Visitors. Leahy presented a scholarship to Kristin LaPointe, a senior Dean's List accounting major and member of the golf team. John Thomas, a 3rd year MBA student who provides financial counseling to low income young adults, received his scholarship from Orenstein.
