MBA Requirements

Hartford's MBA Application Requirements


 All candidates must:

  1. complete an on-line application and pay a $50 application fee
  2. send official transcripts of all previous baccalaureate and graduate study,
  3. submit two letters of recommendation from academic or professional sources,
  4. take and send the results of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)*
  5. write a letter of intent and résumé.

*GMAT waivers based on substantial work experience may be granted in extraordinary circumstances. At a minimum, applicants requesting a GMAT experience waiver must have at least 3 years of significant work experience. Each request is individually evaluated through a personal interview.

The GMAT examination has a flexible schedule of test dates. Students may call test centers and arrange for individual computerized testing. University code is XBBNR25. Scores are available within a few weeks. GMAT scores are valid for five years.

Graduate Assistantships

A limited number of graduate assistantships are available to full time (9 credits), matriculated graduate students in the Barney School. These positions require the student to work for a faculty member or an academic office.Hours vary each semester. Appointment is competitive and based on academic ability, work experience, and the needs of faculty or the academic office. Resumes may be submitted to the Academic Department Office Coordinator.
