General Questions

Who should attend Hawktober Weekend?
From alumni to parents, students, and friends, Hawktober Weekend is for everyone!

Which events are child friendly?
Most events are child friendly. Some events are designed for alumni, parents, and friends of the University 18 years and older. Check back often for updates regarding those events.

What should I wear during Hawktober Weekend?
Connecticut weather in the fall is always a little unpredictable, so come prepared!  For most of the weekend, casual dress is appropriate, although many people prefer to dress up for the various dinners available. Red is always encouraged!

Are pets allowed?
While pets are allowed on campus, they are not allowed into any building or
residence hall.

Can you accommodate special needs?
Those with special needs are encouraged to attend Hawktober Weekend. Most buildings on campus are handicapped accessible. For additional questions regarding accessibility, please email hawktober@hartford.edu.

Can I find out who else is attending Hawktober Weekend?
Definitely! After registration opens in July, check out the Who's Attending Page to see the names of fellow Hawks who will be joining you at Hawktober Weekend.

Can I take a tour of campus during Hawktober Weekend?
A campus tour will be available on Saturday morning. Check out the full schedule of events in July!

What are the dates of Hawktober Weekend?
Hawktober Weekend takes place October 20–22, 2017



Lodging and Transportation

Do you recommend any local hotels?
University of Hartford partners with several area hotels and inns, offering a variety of accommodation types. Online booking is available.

Where can I park?
Parking for Hawktober Weekend is available in any campus lot. For the best location, look for Lot A, C, and D. Download a printable campus map.

How do I get to campus?
Driving directions to campus are available online, as is information regarding public transportation.



Registration

When is the registration deadline?
Online registration will be available from mid-July until Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017. After that, registration will be available on site during Hawktober Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 8 a.m.–1:30 p.m., in Suisman Lounge in Gengras Student Union.

What if my plans change and I need to cancel my registration?
We understand plans change. Should you need to change your registration, please contact us at hawktober@hartford.edu or at 860.768.2400. Refunds are not available after Oct. 15.

Can I pay at the door for Hawktober Weekend events?
Hawktober Weekend registration will be open throughout the weekend in Suisman Lounge in Gengras Student Union. However, it is recommended you register online in advance to save time at check in.

Where and at what time can I pick up my meal tickets?
Registration will be open Saturday, Oct. 21, from 8 a.m.–1:30 p.m., in Suisman Lounge in Gengras Student Union.

How will I know that my registration has been received and processed?
Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a detailed description including events and activities for which you have registered.
