Students should register as soon as they can after the schedule of classes is published. The registrar's office sets special times for registration of certain student populations. For example, honor students may register for certain classes earlier than other students. Matriculated students can register earlier than non-matriculated students. The earlier you register, the more likely you are to get the classes you need and want. The longer you wait to register, the more likely you are to find the classes you need are already full.
To prepare for registration, it is a good idea to schedule a meeting with your advisor. Make sure that you bring to the meeting all the forms you need and an updated list of the courses you have already completed.
