The Inauguration of President Gregory S. Woodward

GregWoodward.pngThe inauguration of Gregory S. Woodward as the sixth president of the University of Hartford will take place on Saturday, Oct. 20. Woodward, a composer, musician, athlete, and scholar, joined the University in July 2017, returning to his roots in the West Hartford area. He has spent nearly four decades working in almost every conceivable role in higher education.

A diverse array of events will take place during Inauguration Weekend which is also Hawktober, the University’s annual Homecoming and Parents Weekend. View the inauguration schedule below.

Friday, Oct. 19

The Presidents: A University Archives and Special Collections Pop-Up Exhibit
1–4 p.m., Harrison Libraries
Take a look back at UHart's leaders and their respective eras as we celebrate the latest to join their ranks, President Gregory Woodward. The current and past living presidents have been invited to pop in.
 

Paranov Day Pop-Ins: A series of music, dance, and theatre mini-classes and performances
1–4:30 p.m., The Hartt School, Fuller Music Center and Handel Performing Arts Center (shuttle available)
How do actors learn an accent? How does singing folk music help ear training? What does it take to be a choreographer? These and other tips will be covered in workshops scheduled so you can attend more than one.
 

PRESSED: An Exhibit Celebrating 40 Years of the Hartford Art School Print Workshop
1–5 p.m., Joseloff Gallery (also Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21, same times)

Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and gather on the Campus Green for a dazzling fireworks display! The Campus Activity Team and Commuter Students Association will create a festive atmosphere to end your day at UHart!
