Anchor Award
The ship's anchor located on the University campus has a rich history. Originally positioned on the USS Hartford, the flagship of Admiral David G. Farragut, the Anchor now represents a longstanding tradition of the University of Hartford.
The Anchor Award is the most prestigious award presented by the University of Hartford Alumni Association. The awards were established to recognize alumni who have distinguished themselves by achieving the highest level of professional accomplishments and who possess absolute standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of The University of Hartford.
One Anchor Award is given from each school/college. Individuals must be a graduate of one of the schools/colleges, or predecessor institutions, of the University of Hartford.
Humanitarian Service Award
This award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding meritorious contributions of state, national, or international significance to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of human welfare. Recipients have demonstrated exceptional dedication to selfless service and have taken personal responsibility for serving the communities in which they live.
A single Humanitarian Service Award is presented by the University of Hartford Alumni Association. Individuals must be a graduate of one of the schools/colleges, or predecessor institutions, of the University of Hartford. This award is presented at the Anchor Awards Ceremony during Fall Weekend.
