Specific responsibilities that the Data Standards and Integrity Subcommittee will address in relation to technology governance include the following:

  • Establish priorities for data implementation requests brought before the committee
  • Facilitate internal and external communications regarding data standards
  • Create, communicate, and oversee adherence to data policy that maximizes the value of institutional data housed within Banner and other information systems
  • Document data and process standards and provide a central repository
  • Develop a change management process for modifications 
  • Develop and maintain a list of data stewards, and define the areas of responsibility for the access and management of data with appropriate university departments
  • Advise on University-wide data management practices for decision making including data warehousing, business intelligence, master data management, and metadata management
  • Assess compliance requirements related to laws and regulations that have information management implications and impart a duty upon the University
  • Develop an annual report for the IT Executive Council documenting the Committee's progress and recommended initiatives and actions
