Wordmark For Print

The files for print have the necessary information for contracted and local printers to reproduce the wordmark to closest match the University of Hartford red. The EPS files provided are suitable for all printed pieces, these meet the standards for vendor requested EPS artwork.


The University red color is Pantone Matching System (PMS 485 Red). The red wordmark with a white colored background is the preferred workmark of the University of Hartford.

The black wordmark is for use on any projects or jobs with the final output being in black and white. It may also be used if printed over a light-colored background or image, if using the red wordmark does not provide sufficient contrast or a strong visual.

A white or knock-out version can be used on solid red or black background. When it is necessary to place the wordmark over a photograph or illustration, be sure to provide sufficient contrast to ensure a strong visual.

File Formats

Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) is a graphics file format. These files can only be opened and viewed by graphic software applications. They are suitable for printers and vendors who request print ready versions of the wordmark in an EPS format.

A JPEG (JPG) is a commonly used method of compression for digital images. These files are for use on small runs or on in house print jobs. They can be inserted into Microsoft Word documents or other publication software for limited quantity print jobs. These files are not to be used on larger print jobs because of their lesser quality. Please provide EPS files whenever possible.
