Jean McGivney-Burelle, PhD

Jean McGivney-Burelle’s scholarship examines the teaching and learning of mathematics at the college level. Specifically, her work focuses on the effective use of active learning strategies to more fully engage students in learning mathematics. McGivney-Burelle has published numerous book chapters, articles, and conference proceedings, and has served as Principal Investigator on Teacher Quality Partnership and National Science Foundation grants totaling over $1.9M. McGivney-Burelle has been an MAA Project NExT Fellow, a National Network for Educational Renewal Fellow, a member of the University of Hartford’s WELFund’s Laura Johnson Initiative for Women Leaders and a participant in the 2016-17 HERS Leadership Wellesley Institute.
