Exciting experiences await you at The Hartford Art School Galleries

The Hartford Art School Galleries encompass the Joseloff Gallery, the Donald and Linda Silpe Gallery, the Helen S. Kaman Print Study Center, and the Art on Campus initiative. Our purpose is to launch conversations, expand creative thinking, and kindle engagement with our community through the lens of contemporary art. From thematic and retrospective exhibitions featuring globally renowned artists to experimental collaborations, a variety of exhibitions are on display year-round. We are free and open to the public—a hub for everyone in the community to gather, learn, and imagine through art.  

Coming Soon: 79th Annual Exhibition of the Connecticut Watercolor Society

Terry Feder, Activation of Green, Gouache, watercolor, and graphite

The Silpe Gallery is pleased to host the 79th Annual Exhibition of the Connecticut Watercolor Society. The exhibition will be juried by Terry Donsen Feder, Adjunct Professor of Art at the Hartford Art School. In 2008-10, Feder was an artist mentor for the Graduate Program at the Art Institute of Boston. Her work has been included in group and solo shows nationwide and in Ireland. She has also done mural work, including two Sol LeWitt wall drawings, and she has designed and executed murals in Nevada, Nantucket, and Hartford. Her work is included in private and corporate collections, including the Ruth and Marvin Sackner Archives of Visual Poetry, the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Sol and Carol LeWitt Collection, the Chase Family Collection, and the Bushnell. The exhibition will open with a reception on Sunday, June 9 from 1-4 p.m. For this exhibition only, the gallery will be open Monday-Friday, 1-5 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, 1-4 p.m.
